Man sued for car accident
A family has sued a man at the U.S. District Court in connection with a vehicular accident that allegedly resulted in injuries to a couple and their child.
Kenneth and Erica Cochrane demanded for a jury trial in the civil action they filed against Francisco W. Borja yesterday.
The Cochranes seek unspecified amount of damages against Borja, who allegedly drove his car recklessly, resulting in the vehicular mishap on Dec. 7, 2003.
David Banes, the Cochranes’ attorney, said Borja failed to yield to the right of way and struck the Cochranes’ car suddenly. Kenneth Cochrane was driving his car with due care along 2W Highway at the Navy Hill intersection when the accident happened, the lawyer said.
Banes said the Cochrane couple and their child suffered injuries as a result of the vehicular mishap. He said the Cochranes have yet to fully recover from their injuries.
“Mrs. Cochrane suffered serious bodily injuries, the loss of use of parts of her body, mental and physical loss of energy and loss of health and vigor,” Banes stated in a complaint.
Banes alleged that the woman’s husband and child lost the consort, companionship and affection of a wife and a mother due to her injuries.
