25-and-under playoffs all set

The BANMI 25-and-under Basketball League will feature a double-elimination playoff format beginning this Monday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

This according to the schedule released Thursday by league official Elias Rangamar.

Having the honor of opening the playoffs are the fourth-ranked Garapan Rollers and fifth-seed Ulloa’s as they battle to remain in the winners bracket at 6:30pm.

The winner between the two will advance to play pennant champion and No. 1 seed Toyota Prius at 6:30pm Wednesday.

Following the contest will be a battle between No. 3 San Antonio Wildcats and No. 6 Ghasias 7-Kings, who split their regular season encounters, with the Wildcats taking the win during the first round and the 7-Kings returning the favor in the second round.

The winner between the two will then face powerhouse and No. 2 seed SaipanCell-NMC Hoopaholics at 8pm Wednesday.

The teams that falter on Monday will play in a do-or-die match at 6:30pm Friday, while the winner of the Toyota game will take on the winner of the Hoopaholics’ bout at 8pm.

Rangamar, who is currently attending a sprinters and hurdlers training workshop in Australia, will return Monday in time for the start of the playoffs.
