Several Head Start service providers underwent an infant and child CPR course conducted by the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter Friday at the Aqua Resort Club.

About 66 individuals from head start and day care institutions, as well as two parents, took part in the daylong activity made possible through the Public School System’s Childcare Program under the direction of commissioner Dr. Rita H. Inos.

“We’re doing this so that they can be providing health and safety environments for the young children, said Childcare Program administrator Andrea Alepuyo. “After [Friday], they’ll get certified when they pass the course.”

The course has been provided to the Head Start and day care providers for the past three years.

Participants also benefited from presentations conducted by the 2005 Buckle-Up CNMI Planning Committee and NMPASI.
