Megan Ito was awarded the Commissioner’s Award during a graduation ceremony that promoted some 69 students at the Koblerville Elementary School grounds yesterday morning.

The second highest award, the Principal’s Award, went to Holley Melchor.

Graduating with the presidential awards for educational achievement, Ito shared memories of teachers who have supported her.

“I will remember my 4th grade teacher, Mr. Etpison, saying ‘Megan will be standing up there,’ right where I am now. My 5th grade teacher Mr. Behr; Mrs. Evangelista for teaching me another language; Mr. Masga, thanks to you, I made it through my last year here.”

Ito also extended her gratitude to her parents for their love and encouragement. “Both parents tried their very best to give me what I need even through rough times. They push me to do my best in everything and that is how I ended up here today,” she said.

Top five graduates receiving honors included Danny Bai, Lorraine Ngirkelau, Jovinette Sablan, Kelsey Sablan, and Mark San Juan.

In his closing remarks, acting principal Eric Evangelista challenged the graduates to strive for the best. “[Graduates], you leave today with the knowledge and skills it takes to be in the next level. Now I say goodbye to our graduates who will one day be our leaders.”

Graduates were presented the presidential award for educational achievement, presidential award for educational excellence, and subject awards.
