The “Happy Children in Paradise” campaign is returning for its sixth year as part of the Marianas Visitors Authority’s efforts to capture the family market.

The summer campaign will run from July 1, 2005 through Sept. 30, 2005 and will target children 11 years old and under.

“With the summer holiday around the corner, the Marianas Visitors Authority is gearing up to meet the expected influx of family travelers to…Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. The MVA will once again coordinate the Happy Children in Paradise summer campaign targeted to appeal to the family market,” said MVA.

The tourism office reported that more than 13,000 children from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and China visited the Northern Marianas during the campaign period in 2004.

As part of the campaign, qualified children will receive a “Saipanda” backpack with a Saipan, Tinian and Rota logo water bottle.

During the campaign period, a Saipanda mascot will also be at the Saipan International Airport to greet arriving passengers from 1am to 4am and 1pm to 4pm daily.

“We are optimistic that this promotion will bring in more visitors during this year’s summer months. We will continue to progress and develop better awareness of the destination in all markets for…Saipan, Tinian, and Rota,” added Benavente.
