Over 60 people went to Hard Rock Café Saipan Friday night to witness the first ever off-island performance of Hawaii’s popular hit group Nuffsedd.

The band includes lead vocals and guitarist Joshua Kahula, saxophonist and vocals Kit Okazaki, bass player Tom Mamuad, drummer Duane Rosa, and sounds man Chris Mamuad.

Manager Rick Davis of Davis Entertainment Agency was on hand to assist the group in their first ever off-island performance, which happened to be on Saipan.

“This is our first time on Saipan. We love it down here, and we would like to thank everyone for listening to our music,” said Okazaki.

The band was formed in Maui, Hawaii. “Two of the guys in the band are Hawaiian, but we all met in Hawaii. We’ve been together for about four years now,” said Okazaki.

Nuffsedd entertained the crowd by performing several of their songs from their album Opens Doors for Strangers, which include hits like Cherry Bomb, Simple, Good People, and Life is Perfect among others.

With just an admission fee of $12.50, the crowd was able to enjoy a mix of jazz and island music with a complementary Miller Beer. The event was sponsored by Miller Lite, Power 99, and Saipan Cell. (Cassie DLG Fejeran)
