The fourth points race hosted by the Marianas Racing Association this year was filled with thrilling and nail-biting action as riders put their skills to the test and maneuvered their bikes and ATVs around the Cowtown Raceway Park in Marpi Sunday.

In all, 10 different categories were featured and each rider put on a good show to the delight of the fans.

Leading the way was veteran rider Cuci Alvarez, who held his ground en route to conquering the 125cc Expert Class. Right behind him, however, was the high-flying Floyd Dela Cruz, while Alverick Alvarez placed third. Ellery Cruz and Roman Tudela capped the top five.

For his part, David Celis also sat on top of the mountain as he dusted the competition for first place in the 125cc Novice Class, while Glen Pangelinan and 16-year-old female sensation Meagan Cruz placed second and third. Kimo Taitano also had a solid outing and finished in fourth place.

Melvin Cepeda was the man to beat in the Veterans Class and edged a determined Steve Sablan for first place, while Dave Berger and Henry Camacho Sr. ended another day at the track in the third and fourth spots.

Patrick Celis, Jay Jones, Francisco Ada, and Charles Cepeda also took their machines to the extreme in the category, with Celis and Jones finishing in fifth and sixth place, and Ada and Cepeda capping the elite eight.

Shane Alvarez was the lone competitor in the Fast and Furious Expert Class, while Manny Flores beat out the field in the Fast and Furious Novice. Flores was followed by Henry Camacho Jr., Christian Manzaneres, D.J. Camacho, and Chris Alepuyo.

Aaron Pangelinan topped the Super Minis II Novice Class, edging fellow standout Jared Sablan, while Edinna Cepeda took home the crown of the Peewee 80. For her part, Patty Cepeda burned rubber and took first place in the Peewee 50 Class.

Fans were also in for another treat as competitors brought out their ATVs to tackle the track.

Chris Alepuyo had a fair share of the spotlight as he dominated and won first place in the Big Boys ATV category, while Christian Camacho and Jesse Celis followed.

Britney Camacho also punched in a sterling performance and cruised to first place in the Mini ATV category.

Top performers earn points during the monthly races. At the end of the season, the rider with the most points in his or her class will have bragging rights as the No. 1 rider.

The race also served as a tune-up for the year’s main event, an international race featuring competition from around the world, including riders from the Philippines, Guam, Japan, and New Zealand, among others.
