Live-fire training, aerial survey at FDM

The Emergency Management Office, together with the U.S Naval Forces Marianas, is informing the public that the U.S. military will be conducting live-fire and aerial survey exercises at the Farallon de Mendenilla Island.

* June 10–11, 7am–9pm— Live-fire training

* June 20, 8am–1pm—Aerial survey

SHEFA accepting new applicants

The Mayor of Saipan Juan Borja Tudela and the Board of Directors of the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance said that SHEFA is now accepting new applications for financial assistance for Fall 2005.

Continuing students from Fall 2004 and Spring 2005 must submit a renewal application on July 1. Continuing recipients must also submit an original copy of the memorandum of agreement.

The deadline for submission of applications and supporting documents is July 1, 2005. Applications and supporting documents submitted after the deadline will not be entertained or considered for the Fall 2005 cycle of financial assistance.

Any bone fide resident of Saipan or the Northern Mariana Islands who is a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident attending U.S. accredited colleges or universities on Saipan or abroad, enrolled as full-time student and has at least 2.5 GPA for undergraduate and 3.0 GPA for Graduate and advanced standing, must submit a completed application and all required supporting documents to the SHEFA office in the Garapan Housing Complex behind Garapan Elementary School on or before July 1, from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

DES start of classes set

This is to inform the general public and the Dandan community that the Dandan Elementary School will have its 1st day of instruction for School Year 2005-2006 on Aug. 3, 2005. Should there be any questions in regards to this, contact our main office at 664-5025/26/31.

MHS Class of 1995 reunion

The reunion committee would like to invite the Marianas High School alumni of 1995 to a reunion celebration on July 9, 2005 at Charley’s Cabaret, Pacific Islands Club. NCEES examination set

The Board of Professional Licensing said that it would be giving the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination (PE) civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical and professional land surveying examination on Oct. 28, 2005, and the Fundamentals of Engineering (FF) and Fundamentals of Land Surveying Examination on Oct. 29, 2005.
Applications to take the examinations must be submitted to the Board of Professional Licensing Office no later than July 1, 2005.
