Tickets for the most awaited concert of the year on Saipan is now on sale.

The one-night concert, featuring the Philippines’ concert king, Martin Nievera, and dubbed “A Night to Remember with Martin Nievera,” will be held at the Hopwood Junior High School Amphitheater on July 10.

Tickets are being sold at $15 for adults, $12 for children 7 to 12 years old, and $20 for those who will buy tickets at the gate. Children 6 years and under will be allowed in for free.

The tickets are now being sold at the following offices: Pacific Trading Corp., Saipan Tribune, Western Union, IT&E, all Joeten Stores, all Shirley’s Coffee Shop locations, Jollibee, and selected Mobil gas stations.

Northern Marianas College Foundation president Jerry Tan earlier said the concert is part of the organization’s fundraising activities to acquire more sources of income for the college.

He said Nievera’s one-night performance on Saipan would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the University of Guam Foundation. Nievera will perform first in Guam on July 9 and will fly to Saipan the next day.

Nievera has performed in several concert tours in the United States, including a stint at the Hawaii Convention Center, Honolulu, Hawaii; Beacon Theater in Manhattan, New York; Royal Bilmore Hotel, Los Angeles, California; and Warner Theater in Washing D.C., to name a few.

He recently had a successful series of concerts at the Golden Nugget Showroom in Las Vegas, making him the first Asian to perform at the prestigious venue.

Nievera has also swept the hearts of huge crowds in Australia, England, and Canada, among others.

Showbiz Weekly, a magazine based in Las Vegas, called Nievera an International Superstar in 2003.

Some of Nievera’s credits include at least 25 albums and over 50 concerts, both in the Philippines and abroad. Nievera’s hits include Ikaw ang Lahat Sa Akin, Be My Lady, Each Day With You, Say That You Love Me, Kahit Isang Saglit, You Are My Song, and The Promise, among more than a hundred songs he has written and produced in his musical career.

The concert is presented by Pepsi, Tan Holdings Foundation, and Continental Airlines. Sponsors for the big event are AON, Pacific Care, Marianas Cable Vision, Saipan Tribune, Mobil, Joeten Charitable Foundation, 103.9 KZMI, Magic 100FM, SaipanCell, Quality Distributors, First Hawaiian Bank, Western Union, Club Chicago, Reach Out IT&E, Verizon, Salon de Manila, Traders Insurance Company, Henry K.
