COOKING CLASSES AT RP CONSULATE

The Philippines’ Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will conduct a training program on culinary arts (Chinese cuisine) on June 26, July 3, July 10, July 17 and July 24, 2005 from 1pm to 5pm at the Filipino Workers Resource Center. Interested overseas Filipino workers must register at the OWWA, Ground Floor, Nauru Building, Susupe. The maximum number of participants is 30, hence this will be on a first come, first serve basis.

VISMINDA RAFFLE DRAW SET

The Visayas Mindanao Association of CNMI Inc. wishes to inform the public that the coronation and raffle draw of “Mrs. Visminda 2005” has been re-scheduled to June 18, 2005, 6:30pm at the Dai-Ichi Hotel’s Hibiscus Hall, Garapan, Saipan. GTC SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School will accept the first 30 students who register on Monday, June 20, 2005 for the Read Today Passport Summer Program.

The Read Today Summer Program will be held on June 20-July 15, 2005, from 8am to 12 noon. Breakfast, snack and lunch will be served.

NMC-CREES SEEKING SUMMER TRAINEES

Are you a high school student with at least a C average and 16 years of age? If so, you might be interested to become a trainee with the Northern Marianas College from July 5 to July 29.

Positions are available immediately on Saipan in nutrition, sewing and agricultural research. To apply from June 20 to 27, please stop by the NMC-CREES office at Building F in As Terlaje with a copy of your transcript. For more information call the office manager at 234-5498 Ext. 1705. (PR)

WSR REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

The William S. Reyes Elementary School will begin late registration for school year 2005-2006 on July 11 to 22, 2005.

Kindergarten students must be born between Sept. 1, 1999, and August 31, 2000, to be eligible to register and must be residing within the Chalan Kanoa, Susupe, As Perdido and Chalan Piao school zone. The same goes for the rest of the grade levels. Registration will be held at the Principal’s Office from 8:30am to 3pm.

W.S. Reyes Elementary cannot guarantee to make copies of documents. Therefore, in order to prevent unnecessary delay, parents are urged to provide the school registrar with copies of the following documents:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Health Certificate
3. Health Insurance
4. Report Card
5. Transfer paper from previous school
6. Social Security Number
“We cannot register students without the above documents, so please make sure you have the documents with you.”

WATER REPORT DUE ON JULY 1

The Division of Environmental Quality is reminding all Community Water Systems that the Consumer Confidence Report for year 2004 is due to DEQ on or before July 1, 2005.

All community water systems are required to gather all 2004 analytical results and violations, if any, and produce a Consumer Confidence Report provided to all consumers.

For assistance in preparing the Consumer Confidence Report, DEQ has copies available of the EPA document “Preparing Your Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Report: Revised Guidance for Water Suppliers,” dated January 2001.

The document is also available online at http://www.epa.gov/safewater.

DEQ Safe Drinking Water staff is available to assist with preparation and reviewing of draft reports. Contact Julie De La Rosa at 664-8500 prior to June 15, 2005 for assistance or additional information.

DES START OF CLASSES SET

This is to inform the general public and the Dandan community that the Dandan Elementary School will have its 1st day of instruction for School Year 2005-2006 on Aug. 3, 2005. Should there be any questions in regards to this, contact our main office at 664-5025/26/31.

MHS CLASS OF 1995 REUNION

The reunion committee would like to invite the Marianas High School alumni of 1995 to a reunion celebration on July 9, 2005 at Charley’s Cabaret, Pacific Islands Club. Doors will open at 6:30pm and is $25 per person. A family fun day picnic will follow the next day at Minachaom Atdao.
