A Japanese mission group is expected to arrive on June 24 for their 60th pilgrimage tour for world prayer, to remember those who perished during World War II for those who are still in the midst of fighting.

Pacific Development, Inc. public relations and marketing manager Gordon Marciano said they are expecting close to 300 members to arrive for the event.

He said the group, called the Shikogakuen Mission group and led by president Masakazu Kawakami, is inviting everyone to join them at Banzai Cliff on June 25 at 10am.

The group built a memorial monument on Saipan in October 1988 at Banzai Cliff, said Marciano.

He said the group would hold its prayer next week not only for the Japanese who perished during the war but also for the people of all nations who died because of wars all over the world.

Marciano said the Shikougakuen Mission is a religious organization, which was established in August 15, 1945.

The group claims that its leader heard God’s voice in a revelation, resulting in the creation of the Shikougakuen Mission. The group believes that this Being, which created the religious organization, is the same God who gave birth to Buddha 2,500 years ago and to Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago.

Marciano said the group claims that more than 1,000 people have been cured of physical pain and illnesses and achieved inner peace and tranquility of soul by relying on the message and curing powers of the existence of the “Father of our Great God.”

The members of the pilgrimage, said Marciano, believes that life is a long journey, that the soul is immortal, and that death is both a return to God and the start of the journey of life.
