Lyna Vizconde’s hollowness
Neither of us runs a publication like Pee Magazine. We are not proprietors of a daily newspaper. We’re not in the yellow trade publication business. Therefore, there’s nothing to declare. Is this too difficult to comprehend Ms. Vizconde?
Evidently, do you really exist or is yours one of virtual existence working as an indentured political slave for an administration that is basically history? Please reveal your true self. It’s called honesty and it’s free, too. You’ve just about exhausted all your dirty tricks in your bag, di ba?
Now, a political advertisement came out in the Tribune where your BB Guns claimed everything that are diametrically the opposite of what they did over the last four years. It’s called LYING! I suppose if it hurts, one can arbitrarily employ baseless justification to brave lying about it too. May I illustrate:
No payless payday: Weren’t teachers sent home without their paychecks in recent months because of non-transfer of allotment to PSS?
No new taxes: What about the administration’s consistent and persistent proposal known as the Integrated Tax Plan (ITP) from day one some four years ago? Remember the sin tax and the woefully steep fuel surcharge increase?
Taxpayers are lucky the legislature slammed dunk it right at the door. Gee!
No wonder the we few are persistently singing the refrain, “the economy is
pretty darn good.” Is it?
No pay or work hour reduction: The administration visited government departments and agencies four years ago seeking employees’ cooperation on work hour reduction. But it was met with dead silence. In the words of one government employee: First, this administration didn’t issue my tax refunds and now it is asking that I volunteer work hour reduction?
One would have to be blind, mute and deaf to advocate degrading the honorable journalism profession to a new yellow low. If only you can work up a social conscience to protect the innocent, maybe and just maybe, you may crack and exit the shell of your own cowardly walls. Eh, how about staying honest? Try it, it’s free and it feels great being free, running scared from your own shadows.
