Saipan lass is 2005 Little Miss Oregon Sweetheart
SALEM, Oregon—A native Saipan lass won the title of Little Miss Oregon Sweetheart in Salem, Oregon on Saturday, June 18, 2005.
Mariana Kiki Concepcion Teregeyo, the daughter of Raymond and Marianne Teregeyo, was crowned during the American Miss Novice and Professional Pageant which was held at the Comfort Suites Hotel.
Kiki competed with 12 other girls from the state of Oregon and Washington and bagged four other titles during this event. Kiki was named Miss Photogenic, Best Portfolio, Best Theme Wear, and Best in Formal Wear.
She won four medallions, a plaque, a trophy, a sash, and a crown, among other prizes. Kiki now advances to the American Miss Regional Pageants where she will compete with girls from other states, scheduled to be held in August.
Kiki’s mom, Marianne Teregeyo, says she is extremely proud of her daughter and proud that a Chamolinian girl won the title.
“Kiki is a natural beauty. Wherever we go, we are complimented about her, so we decided to let her compete in the pageant. She was the only contestant with no pageant experience, but in the end she was the queen, the overall winner,” Marianne said
She said they are looking forward to the national pageant but admits that there is a lot of hard work ahead and fundraising to do as the national pageants can be extremely costly.
“Kiki will not only be competing for the title in nationals but she will also be promoting our islands,” said Kiki’s mom.
