McDonald’s to have 24-hour weekends
Beginning July 1, McDonald’s Garapan branch will be operating 24 hours on weekends, extending regular hours every Friday and Saturday nights.
Saipan’s McDonald’s owner Joe Ayuyu said the move would make the restaurant’s products available during the wee hours, bearing in mind those working on graveyard shift, especially emergency personnel.
Those who just came from partying at night or any motorist may order their favorite snacks at the drive-thru of McDonald’s Garapan during the wee hours on weekends.
“That’s in response to customers’ requests,” Ayuyu said. “I think it’s the right time now to do it.”
Ayuyu said that the 24-hour operation would only apply to the restaurant’s drive-thru service. However, he said the outlet could open the restaurant and make the operation daily if there is customers demand.
Ayuyu said McDonald’s is now training seven new staff, some of whom would be detailed to the night shift operations.
He said the business has been doing well compared to last year’s performance. Ayuyu owns Saipan’s McDonald’s outlets on Beach Road, Garapan and on Middle Road, Gualo Rai, leading a staff of 70.
