Action in the 2005 BANMI Masters Basketball League resumes this Friday at the Northern Marianas College Gymnasium.

According to BANMI president Mike Muna, officials will finalize the regular season schedule this week and teams will be informed of their upcoming scheduled games.

The league kicked off last Wednesday evening with two games, the first featuring a special guest referee as FIBA Oceania secretary general Steve Smith called the game for the first three minutes of the opening quarter.

A couple of games were being planned for last Friday and Saturday, but were postponed until the regular season scheduled is finalized, giving teams more time to prepare for action.

The league features competition in a 35-and-over division as well as a 45-and-over division.

Also, players in the 45-and-over category can play for teams in the 35-and-over division, however, 35-and-over division players cannot suit up in the 45-and-over.

Teams from both categories will also compete against one another; however, wins and losses for their division standings will only count when playing teams within their division.

All games will be played at the NMC Gym on Fridays and Saturdays. The first game will tip off at 6pm and the second is expected to start 10 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

The league used to be housed by the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, which is expected to host the Budweiser Cup, Rotary league, and other upcoming basketball leagues
