The field in the BANMI 35-and-over Masters Basketball League just got a little bigger as two more teams have joined the cagefest.

BANMI official Elias Rangamar distributed a revised schedule of the 2005 regular season, adding Tony Sablan’s Verizon and Boy Garcia’s Boys.

The two teams now join Natibu, Pepsi, Legends, Northern Marianas College Proa, Old Aces, and Sadunaaro in the fight for the coveted championship crown.

With the addition of the teams, the bout between Proa and Sadunaaro, originally scheduled for this Friday, has been changed. Instead, Verizon and Boys will make their debut, with tip off set for 6:30pm at the NMC Gymnasium.

The league was also running on a two-round format, however, as a result of the addition of the Verizon and Boys, the league will now use a single-elimination round format expected to conclude on Aug. 29.

Action continues Saturday with Pepsi battling Old Aces at 2:30pm and Natibu banging heads with Legends.

Meanwhile, action in the 45-and-over league also resumes this Friday with Pepsi playing Old Aces at 8pm. Legends II will then face NMC at 4:30pm Saturday.

All games are played on Fridays and Saturdays, with two games on Fridays and three games on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, 45-and-over action features three rounds in the regular season, with teams facing each other thrice before playoff time. The league is tentatively scheduled to conclude on Aug. 23.
