Arts trainees open summer exhibit
The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture announced the opening of the “First Summer Visual Exhibit,” a new exhibit organized by summer trainees of the Workforce Investment Agency.
The exhibit opened on July 1, 2005, at the CNMI Gallery on Capitol Hill and will be open until July 29. Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.
“It was hard work! Especially being the coordinator,” said WIA trainee Cora Norita about her training on the project.
The exhibit features arts and crafts including beadwork, photographs, and paintings. Artist Jamie Bowers has on display his multi-media paintings “Monkey Boy,” “Red Dawn,” and “Rising Sun.”
The exhibit also features new artwork by Maria Hunter, including “Taga,” “Palauan 1st Birth Ceremony,” “The Sacrifice Surei offered Tulei,” and “The Three Fish.”
“The WIA trainees did a great job fixing up the exhibit,” said public information officer trainee Julauna Tagabuel when she stopped by to document the exhibit for the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.
The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture is a division of DCCA.
