There will be a power outage tomorrow, July 16, from 8:30am to 4pm, affected select areas in Garapan.

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s Power Division said the outage is needed to transfer the overhead distribution load to the new underground distribution line along Hotel Street or Coral Tree Avenue in Garapan.

This outage will affect the following areas: Along Hotel Street or Coral Tree Avenue, portion of 1st Street, 5th Street, and portion of F Street (American West Side of the American Memorial Park, Hyatt Hotel, Dai-Ichi Hotel, and Remington Club).

No traffic lights will be affected.

CUC said this interruption is necessary to allow CUC linemen to work on de-energized power lines safely. The power will be turned on as soon as the linemen have completed this project.

“CUC requests the cooperation and patience from people driving and residing in these areas while the work is completed,” the agency said in a statement.
