Oftentimes, we neglect the beauty of our islands and natural resources. Keeping our land, air and water clean should be everyone’s responsibility. Therefore, it is up to each individual to make a difference in our environment. Pollute or make a difference, it’s your choice.

The Division of Environmental Quality’s Clean-up Brigade is gearing up for the next beach cleanup. This month’s beach cleanup will be at Unai Dangkulu or Coral Ocean Point Beach. If you would like to volunteer your time to cleanup and make a difference in protecting our island, and it’s precious resources, please meet Fran Castro, the DEQ representative in the bright green T-shirt on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at 8am.

The Brigade picks up trash until 10am, breaks for drinks, and continues if necessary. Trash bags, gloves and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers will also vote for the following month’s beach cleanup.

This month, outstanding Brigade members who participated in at least ten (10) monthly cleanups will receive a Brigade cap and those who have participated in at least three (3) clean-ups will receive a bright green Brigade t-shirt.

Become a member today; it’s free! For more information, contact the DEQ office at 664-8500, or fax us at 664-8540. (PR)
