Saipan Agri Fair winners and association members lauded

The 8th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council has adopted a series of resolutions recognizing and congratulating the Saipan Agricultural Fair Association and the winners of the 2005 Saipan Agricultural Fair.

The Saipan Agricultural Fair Association holds annually a Saipan Agricultural Fair for eligible persons who are farming, grazing and residing on Saipan. This year, the Saipan Agricultural Fair was held on May 8, 2005 at the Civic Center 4-H Building in Susupe.

The 26th Annual Saipan Agricultural Fair is comprised of the Animals and Plants categories. In the Animal division, the winners were Pedro A. Deleon Guerrero, grand prize winner; Ray Anthony Ayuyu, first runner-up; Juanita Torres, second runner up; and Randall Aguon, third runner-up. In the Plants category, the overall plants division winners were William (Bill) Ada, grand prize; Juan C. Aguon, first place; Leonardo M. Tudela, second place; and Serafin P. Tudela, third place.

The 26th Annual Saipan Agricultural Fair was collaborative set up by the Department of Lands and Natural Resources, Northern Marianas College-Agricultural Life Science and the Commonwealth Development Authority, and over 100 plant and animal producers, including youth members, participated.

The members of the association also honored late members Juan Faisao Borja and Esteban “Steve” Kileleman in recognition and memory of their many years of dedicated services and contributions to the Saipan Agricultural Fair Association.

The Saipan Agricultural Fair Association is under the leadership of Donald Flores, president; Mac Chargualaf, vice president; Dr. Ike Dela Cruz, secretary-treasurer; Ray Ngeskebei, chairman-Animal division; Aldebert Concepcion, chairman-Solicitation committee; Isidoro T. Cabrera, chairman-concession and tabulation; Jeff Castro, member; Diego B. Camacho, member; Joan I. Moses, member; Lucia Mendiola, associate member; Kay Ewar, associate member; and Polly Omechelang, 4H Youth Division.

“The members of the Municipal Council and the people of the CNMI are extremely gratified to extend special recognition and congratulation to those individuals who participated in making the 26th Annual Saipan Agricultural Fair exciting, challenging, memorable and enjoyable event,” part of the resolutions read.

The resolutions were certified by municipal council chair Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero and vice chair David A. Indalecio and attested by secretary Antonia M. Tudela. (PR)
