The Senate has confirmed the re-nomination of Board of Election commissioners Frances M. Sablan and Jose L. Itibus.

At the same time, the Senate, during its session held on Tinian Wednesday, approved the appointment of Elizabeth DLG. Aldan to the election board.

The Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations said the appointees “will be a valuable asset on this vital commission.”

The committee, chaired by Sen. Paterno S. Hocog, said it is convinced that the commissioners “will represent our people to the best of [their] ability while serving the Commonwealth Election Commission board.”

The committee has yet to decide on the appointment of Noel Evangelista Santos to the same body.

Gov. Juan N. Babauta earlier submitted the names of the four individuals for appointment to the election board.

The Election Commission is readying for the general elections set on Nov. 5 this year.

This year’s poll is reportedly participated by 105 candidates including the four gubernatorial tandems and hopefuls for municipal council and the Board of Education.
