The public, veterans and friends of American Memorial Park are invited to go to the AMP Visitors Center auditorium for a presentation about work and life at the U.S. Navy Hospital on Saipan in 1945.

Don Lyon, a U.S. Navy enlisted man who worked at the hospital on Saipan 60 years ago is returning to Saipan to share stories and pictures of what it was like at the medical clinic right at end of World War II. His extensive photo collection is being donated to the CNMI Museum.

“We are making an effort to have a reunion with all those who worked with Don or are in the photos over 60 years ago,” said Historical Preservation Office’s Genevieve Cabrera, who will be master of ceremonies for the evening event.

The presentation, lasting about an hour will be highlighted with photos and stories by Lyon at 6pm, Aug. 23, 2005.

“Please come join us and call American Memorial Park at 234-7207 for more information,” park officials said in a statement.
