Service members, families may use Katrina helpline

SANTA RITA, Guam—Navy Personnel Command has established a 24-hour helpline to report the whereabouts of Navy Reserve and active-duty members who live or work in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama and remain unaccounted for as well as to obtain information regarding loved ones affected by Hurricane Katrina.

SANTA RITA, Guam—Navy Personnel Command has established a 24-hour helpline to report the whereabouts of Navy Reserve and active-duty members who live or work in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama and remain unaccounted for as well as to obtain information regarding loved ones affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Active-duty service members, Reservists and their dependents can call 1-877-414-5358, while Department of the Navy civilians and their dependents can call 1-877-689-2722.

The helpline is staffed around the clock by active-duty Navy volunteers, who are partnering with the Navy, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and other government organizations to answer questions regarding the status of Sailors and their families. (PR)
