A 28-year-old woman lost her handbag to snatchers in the parking lot of the Afetnas Square Building in San Antonio late Sunday evening.

According to Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Catherine Sheu, the woman was walking north of the parking lot around 10:52pm when two unidentified male suspects accosted her and grabbed hold of her bag.

Sheu said the woman told DPS that she tried to wrestle with the culprits but she was shoved aside. She eventually lost her balance and sustained abrasions on her body.

After seeing the woman fall to the ground, the two suspects fled, carrying with them the women’s handbag, which she claimed contained a payroll check worth $716, entry permit, Social Security card, $54 in cash, house keys, a pair of gold earrings valued at about $86, and a gold necklace with a value of $150.

Sheu said DPS has made no arrests and that the Criminal Investigation Bureau is still investigating the case.
