Saipan’s premier party place, GIG, and Coca Cola are inviting high school students from different schools to join the solo rap competition with the theme “Just Say No to Drugs,” as a highlight of the TeenJam, which was launched last Sept. 17. The weekly Saturday teen disco is open to high school students from 5:30pm to 9pm.

Each contestant must deliver his/her rap piece for a minimum of three minutes and not more than five minutes.

Criteria for judging are:

* Content – 30 percent

* Delivery – 25 percent

* Body Movement – 20 percent

* Audience Impact – 25 percent

The weekly winner will qualify for the Grand Finals this coming December. Contestants are required to submit the typewritten lyrics of their rap piece and their own music background or beats.

For students who want to join the weekly solo dance contest, you are advised to bring your own CD material.

Contestants will be judged under the following criteria: creativity in choreography, rhythm and style, execution and audience impact.
