Two men were arrested after they allegedly hit the head of another man who was merely enjoying the night singing at a karaoke machine.

The police identified the suspects as Luisito Marasigan, 33 and Oliver Marasigan, 35. The two were arrested for alleged assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Cathy Sheu said that around 1:47am Tuesday, the 35-year-old male victim was at the Prince Mart in Susupe and was singing in front of a karaoke machine when the two suspects approached him and engaged him in an argument.

As the argument was heating up, one of the suspects allegedly grabbed a bottle of beer and smacked him on the head with it. The other suspect allegedly took out a knife and attempted to stab the victim.

Witnesses in the area immediately called the police for assistance, Sheu said. The police quickly responded to the scene and arrested the suspects.

The two were immediately brought to the Department of Corrections for detention.
