Live-fire training at FDM

The Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with U.S Naval Forces Marianas, is informing the public that the U.S. military will be conducting live-fire training exercises at the island of Farallon De Mendenilla. The schedule dates and time are as follow:

– Sept. 26-28, 2005 from 5am to 11pm Aerial Survey
– Sept. 29-30, 2005 from 5am to 11pm Aerial Survey
– Oct. 3-5, 2005 from 9am to 2:30pm Live Fire
– Oct. 6-7, 2005 from 9am to 2:30pm Live Fire

The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area (R7201) from 15, 000 feet mean sea level on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

Due to the danger imposed by this activity, Gov. Juan N. Babauta is advising the general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and tour operators—to stay away from this location during the time and dates indicated.
