The Mariana Islands of Saipan and Tinian recently welcomed a location-hunting group of three writers from a famous TV drama company in China.

The group visited Saipan and Tinian in order to assess the destination as the ideal locale to feature scenes in an upcoming television drama they are creating. The Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach and the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino, together with the Marianas Visitors Authority, hosted the group during their stay from Sept. 21 to 28, 2005.

“This TV drama will be a long running TV series that will be broadcasted in China’s national TV stations, which includes Taiwan and Hong Kong. The exposure of the Mariana Islands to the Taiwanese market by these prominent celebrities and the potential business that they could bring in will help to boost awareness in the market place,” said Martin Duenas acting deputy managing director.

The casting plan will include famous actors and actresses from Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Korea. With this TV drama series, the CNMI will increase awareness from the China and Taiwan market. (PR)
