FDM BOMBING EXERCISES SET
The U.S. military has cancelled its scheduled five-day environmental survey on Farallon de Mendinilla Island, replacing the activity instead with bombing exercises.
The military intended to conduct an environmental study on the island from Oct. 17 to 21, based on a public advisory released earlier by the Emergency Management Office. Yesterday, the EMO issued another advisory about the cancellation of the scheduled environmental survey.
Besides the conduct of live fire training from Oct. 6, 7 and 11 to 13, the EMO said the military would resume bombing exercises from Oct. 17 to 20, from 8am to 3am. The EMO added that the military would also conduct live fir training from Oct. 21 to 23 under the same time schedule.
On Oct. 24, the military will conduct an aerial survey on FDM from 7am to 4pm.
The EMO said the training area covers the FDM island “from 15,000 feet mean sea level on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants.”
