2 graduate from naval training
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Shaun Lieto Pua and Jesse Kim Forrester graduated from the U.S. Naval Recruit Training Command, Midwest Recruit Region in Great Lakes, Illinois last Oct. 28, 2005.
Pua and Forrester are now part of the 375th Division and were among 929 sailors who made the transition from civilian life to a career in the U.S. Armed Forces upon graduation.
Pua is the son of Martin and Rose Pua of Kagman II and a 2005 graduate of Kagman High School, while Forrester, a 2005 graduate of Marianas High School, is the son of Kim and Bibine Forrester.
On hand to witness the graduation ceremony on behalf of Resident Rep. Pete A. Tenorio were staff, Pete Torres and Forrester’s mother, Bibine.
Pua expressed his thanks and appreciation to Tenorio by saying, “Sen dangkulu na si yu’us maase for having Mr. Torres from your office come here as our guest to see us graduate today.” Forrester, when asked about his experience said, “Boot camp was a good experience and I’m proud to have accomplished it.”
Tenorio conveyed his best wishes to the graduates over the phone, “Congratulations! It was our pleasure and honor to attend your graduation in Great Lakes. This is a great accomplishment and your service to our country is greatly appreciated by all of us in the CNMI. Both of you are excellent role models for our other young people and I wish you well.”
Upon completion of recruit training, both Pua and Forrester will report to Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) school in Pensacola, Florida for two months then depart to California for their assigned tour of duty. (PR)
