GCA granted NFL affiliate membership

Grace Christian Academy-Pacific Islands has been granted affiliate membership in the National Forensic League.

Founded in 1925, the NFL is a speech honorary society that is represented in 2,700 schools nationwide. Over 1.5 million students and teachers have gained membership, including former Vice President Hubert Humprey, newswoman Jane Pauley, actor James Dean, talk show host Oprah Winfrey, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, C-Span president Brian Lamb, and comedian Kelsey Grammer.

The NFL sponsors awards based upon participation and success in speech and debate events. It also sponsors district competition in the National Tournament in Policy Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Dramatic Humorous, Duo Interpretation, and Student Congress.
