Visitors Channel launches new Guam programming
The Guam Visitors Channel launched fresh programming on Nov. 1. The new show is a lively mixture of tourist attractions and vignettes of local culture and lifestyle in Guam.
Laurie Peterka, vice president of the Visitors Channel, said the station management and staff are very excited with their new programming and our ongoing changes.
“Our commitment to the visitor market remains strong and it’s exciting to be moving in a positive direction,” she said.
Peterka said the Visitors Channel, as an organization, is very thrilled to be leading the way as it heads into the next phase of tourism in Guam.
The Visitors Channel has recently acquired a brand new studio and filming equipment. The new equipment will allow the station to make changes to the programming more regularly.
The Visitors Channel will also be launching a new website to make its online run on Dec. 15. One of the many highlights of the website will be the ability to access the Visitors Channel programming now via the web thus allowing the visitors to learn more about Guam before they leave their respective homes.
Peterka said the Visitors Channel has been able to utilize the skills and talent of new graduates of the Northern Marianas College’s Film Department.
“There are some very talented people here and we are excited to support the local businesses and to employ local talents” said Peterka.
The Visitors Channel currently airs on channel 28 on MCV Guam and MCV channel 3 in Saipan, Tinian and Rota. (PR)
