The CNMI Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management will have their annual diversity conference tomorrow, Dec. 1.

The Annual Diversity Conference will look at the value of the diversity that we find in our workforce and what managers can do to maximize the positive affect of these differences in our workers. There will be discussions on some health issues that affect us, and could affect us, in the multi-national environment that we live in and how this can affect the workplace as well as the community.

Dr. James Hofschneider, CNMI Secertary of Public Health, and Dr. Richard Brostrom, Public Health Medical Director, will discuss current health issues in a diverse work environment.

Josephine Mesta, Hyatt’s Director of Human Resources, will discuss managing the multi-generational workforce. All SHRM members are urged to join their peers for this current and informative conference. All non-SHRM members in the business community, whether owners, managers or human resource professionals, are invited to learn more about the Society and to improve their human resource knowledge through the conference.

The CNMI Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management is the Commonwealth’s foremost professional forum for discussion and training in Human Resource matters. Recognized as a Superior Merit Chapter, the CNMI branch is composed of human resource professionals from a variety of industries, large and small, who recognize a need for a local society for professionals in the human resources field. The CNMI Chapter is affiliated with the national organization.

This half-day conference will be held at the Sand Castle at the Hyatt from 8am to 1:30pm on the said date. All interested participants are urged to register as soon as possible. The cost for all sessions, including lunch, is $30 for SHRM members and $40 for non-SHRM members. There will also be raffle prizes at the conference.
