According to the organizers of the Northern Marianas Islands Football (Soccer) Association, recent reports of downfall of soccer on Saipan have been greatly exaggerated.

In an effort to thwart a recent rumor, the local soccer club sent word to the Saipan Tribune that the season is far from over and that Session I remains ongoing until the end of the week.

The future Pelés and Beckhams can still be found on the grounds of the American Memorial Park in Garapan on Tuesday night for practice and on Saturday morning for game day until they break for the holiday season.

Teams and supporters are advised that practice is a go at the regularly scheduled time of 4:30pm tonight and that the make up game for Week 3 is still on for this Thursday, Dec. 8.

The weekend fun is still slated for this Saturday, Dec. 10, as the teams will lace up the cleats for Week 6 in the morning.

From there NMIFA will call it quits while players enjoy a break from school until practice resumes in the New Year on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, for the second session.
