Third honeymoon for Coke’s Disneyland promo winner
Coca-Cola Beverage Company (Micronesia), Inc.’s Hong Kong Disneyland getaway could be a third honeymoon for a Filipino family who won the first of three grand prizes.
Angelito Pamintuan, a non-resident worker from the Philippines, won the grand prize trip to Hong Kong Disneyland during last Friday’s draw at the KZMI and KCNM office. Pamintuan said until now he could not believe his name was drawn as the first grand prize winner.
Pamintuan, an accountant at Megabyte, said he was at work when his wife, Zenaida, called him up relaying a message from the local Coca-Cola office that he had won an all-expense paid trip to the new Disneyland at the Special Administrative Region in Asia.
He said he could not believe his wife but when Coca-Cola’s sales and marketing director Kathryn Barry called him up at work, his doubts suddenly turned into utter excitement. “I could not believe it because we know that there are lots of people who submitted more entries,” Pamintuan said, adding that he only dropped four stubs. Pamintuan’s winning stub number is No. 03764, which came from the 99 Cents supermarket in Garapan.
Pamintuan has two young daughters whom Coca-Cola will also be flying to the Disneyland theme park in Hong Kong. Barry said the Pamintuan family vacation includes roundtrip airfare for a family of four with three-night stay at a Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and a $1,000 Visa gift card.
“Coca-Cola is very happy for the Pamintuan family,” said Barry. “It was thrilling to be part of something so special and to be able to share in their excitement was wonderful. I can’t wait to award two more Disneyland vacations on Dec. 30.”
Pamintuan’s eldest daughter Angel Mar, a second grade student at Garapan Elementary School, told Saipan Tribune that she is very excited and could not wait to go to Hong Kong Disneyland where she would see face-to-face her favorite Disney character Mickey Mouse.
“I also like to see Cinderella because she is very pretty,” she said.
The family will have time to arrange and schedule their travel before July 1, 2006. Pamintuan said as of this time, he and his wife have not discussed the vacation yet.
Coca-Cola held the awarding of the prize yesterday afternoon at the Coca-Cola office along Middle Road. Saipan Tribune publisher John Pangelinan, KZMI and KCNM station manager Harry Blalock, and Coca-Cola’s general manager Johnnie Fong were also present in the ceremony.
Barry is again encouraging the CNMI community to grab packs of Coca-Cola products for more chances of winning. She said the promo would end on Dec. 30, 2005 when two more Hong Kong Disneyland trips will be given away. Twenty-five other special prizes are also at stake. All winners will be notified via telephone, snail mail, or email.
Consumers who purchase any Coca-Cola family six-pack or two liter bottle will receive one raffle coupon and they must completely fill out the coupons with name, contact number and signature and place it in a drop box in selected stores on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
