MVA names top 10 contributors
The Marianas Visitors Authority has recognized its top 10 contributors, crediting them for giving in-kind contribution amounting to nearly half a million dollars in fiscal year 2005.
During its annual membership meeting Friday, the MVA acknowledged the following donors:
1. Hyatt Regency Saipan – $98,123.50
2. Aqua Resort Club – $63,108.40
3. Pacific Islands Club – $58,548.50
4. Continental Airlines – $45,915.74
5. Fiesta Resort Hotel & Spa (formerly Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach) – $42,464.35
6. Asiana Airlines – $35,880
7. Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino – $31,471
8. Marianas Resort & Spa – $23,580
9. Northwest Airlines – $21,480.37
10. Saipan World Resort $19,827
The MVA formally thanked and recognized representatives from these companies during the annual meeting, which was held at the Royal Taga Room of the Saipan World Resort.
Meantime, MVA managing director Vicky I. Benavente said that during fiscal year 2005, MVA also received $29 million worth of free media exposure in key markets, including Japan, China, and Korea.
MVA, in partnership with concerned airline and hotel businesses, sponsored familiarization tours from these key markets to the CNMI.
In return, media and travel groups invited to the CNMI print, broadcast, and advertise the CNMI as a destination free of charge when they get back to their respective places.
Free advertisements also happens when MVA participates in international trade fairs, which are covered by the media.
