Wells Fargo collected more than 500 toys from 22 sponsors for its “Toys for Tots” toy drive that benefits children under the care of Karidat.

General manager James Matsumoto said the lending company has been organizing the toy drive for the past seven years and this year, under the direction of coordinator Lavina Deleon Guerrero, they were able to collect over two truckloads of toys.

Last Friday morning at Wells Fargo’s San Jose office, Matsumoto, Deleon Guerrero, and representatives from Toys for Tots’ partners ceremonially turned over the toys to Karidat executive director Angie Guerrero.

Guerrero thanked Wells Fargo and the 22 sponsors for the gesture and said the donation would come a long way in making a lot of children happy this Christmas season.

She said Wells Fargo has spearheaded Toys for Tots for seven of the eight years the toy drive has been in existence. She said Toys for Tots, which used to be known as the U.S. Marine Corp. Toys for Tots, matches toys to the age and sex of children under their care.

Guerrero said Karidat plans to distribute the donated toys this week just in time for Christmas.

The sponsor companies, schools, and individual that donated toys to Wells Fargo’s Toys for Tots toy drive are Transamerica Corp, Triple J, Microl Corp., Modern Stationary, National Office Supply, Dolphin Wholesale, Pacific American Title Co., Security Title Co., Power 99, Pacific Islands Club, Charles Reyes Jr., Taro Sue Store, Megabyte Saipan, Dandan Elementary School, William S. Reyes Elementary School, San Antonio Elementary School, Kagman Elementary School, Kagman High School Marianas High School, Chacha Junior High School, and Saipan Tribune. (PR)
