The Fitial administration’s transition committee will turn in today the reports resulting from their month-long evaluation of the Executive Branch and autonomous agencies.

The reports will be given to future department heads for their guidance when they assume office.

Clyde Norita, vice chairman of the transition committee, has been tasked to prepare a summary of the reports that will be presented to Gov.-elect Benigno R. Fitial and Lt. Gov.-elect Timothy P. Villagomez.

In conducting their assessment, the Office of the Governor-Elect had requested the outgoing administration for different documents, including the latest budget sheet, latest quarterly allotment, listing of all capital inventory, listing of all leased vehicles and their respective contract documents, listing of all leased buildings and their respective contract documents, listing of all employees and their status, listing of all consulting and independent employment contracts, summary of all travel orders, and listing of all vendors doing business with the CNMI government.

Designated individuals also visited government offices to assess their financial status, staffing, equipment condition, and overall operation.

The Transition Committee, led by chair Martin Manglona, had to follow a strict code of conduct over the past month.

The code of conduct instructed them, among other things, to maintain confidentiality about dealings and information obtained through their work with the transition committee; use Commonwealth resources in a proper manner; refrain from providing false or misleading information in response to request for information; and behave in a manner that would project a positive image for the Office of the Governor-Elect.
