Checkpoints set up today
The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be setting up checkpoints today, Dec. 31.
The first set up will be on Beach Road Susupe by Minachom Atdao. This operation will start at about 11am and will be terminated around 12:15pm.
The second set up will be on 2W Highway Garapan by Saipan Cockpit. This operation will commence at approximately 3pm and will terminate 4:15pm on the same day.
Each checkpoint conducted will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes) at each location. This activity is part of the department’s efforts to deter, detect and to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.
Traffic officers will also be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities. For more information contact Sgt. Joseph A. Flores at 664-9084/9085.
