The Division of Immigration has been going after alien workers convicted at least twice of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Immigration, through the Attorney General’s Office, filed deportation cases against David C. Sanchez and Rolly J. Querijero, both Filipinos.

The Superior Court ordered Sanchez and Querijero to appear in court on Jan. 6 at 1:30pm and explain why they should not be deported from the Commonwealth.

Immigration Investigator Nicholas T. Reyes stated in court papers that Sanchez was issued a non-resident worker’s entry permit on Jan. 21, 2005 as a painter for Misamis Construction Saipan Ltd.

Reyes said Sanchez’s permit expired on Aug.19, 2005.

Sanchez was found guilty for DUI in 1998 and in 2004.

Reyes said Querijero was issued a non-resident worker’s entry permit on May 31, 2005 as radiator repairer for Saipan Auto Clinic.

Querijero’s permit will expire on April 14, 2006, the investigator said.

The respondent was found guilty for DUI in 1999 and again in 2004.

Reyes said Sanchez and Querijero have been convicted of two misdemeanor and therefore failed to comply with the terms of their entry and are deportable aliens pursuant to Commonwealth law and regulations. (Ferdie de la Torre)
