The Commonwealth Development Authority’s office in Gualo Rai was burglarized by a group of male juveniles on Tuesday night, police told the Saipan Tribune yesterday.

Three minors were arrested at the crime scene, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Eric F. David.

David said a security alarm installed at the CDA building was activated, prompting police officers to respond to the area.

David said a third suspect who acted as a lookout outside the building was immediately apprehended.

The two other suspects who were still inside the building were also caught. The suspects did not resist arrest, the spokesman said.

David said he had no other details because the officer in charge was still completing the report.

He said it was the second time in a week that a security alarm resulted in the arrest of burglars.

On Dec. 30 early morning, members of the Department of Public Safety’s elite Tactical Response Enforcement Team arrested a man who allegedly broke into a commercial building in Gualo Rai.

Eleven members of the TRET team led by Police Officer Eric David surrounded the Mid Pac Micronesia Building between 3am to 4am upon receiving information that a burglar was still inside the building.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect broke into Mid Pac building, causing the alarm to trip off.
