Continental Micronesia yesterday clarified that it continues to service Guam and Saipan with its Boeing 737-800 jets, but said the flights were reduced from once daily to three times weekly.

Continental Micronesia’s staff vice president for sales and marketing, Walter Dias, said the reduction was due to “poor passenger demand for those flights.”

Dias added, though, that the company’s partner, Cape Air, increased its flights. Cape Air services Saipan, Rota and Guam. “There are now seven daily roundtrip Continental Connection [Cape Air] flights between Guam and Saipan offering convenient service throughout the day.”

The B737 flights from Saipan to Guam leave the Saipan International Airport at 5:15am every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Flights from Guam to Saipan leave the A.B. Won Pat International Airport at 4:50pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
