An alleged over-staying Filipino construction worker has been eluding Immigration authorities since November 2001.

This prompted Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman to issue an arrest warrant against Marcelino S. Carlos Jr.

Wiseman set a $1,000 cash bail for the respondent’s temporary liberty.

As of yesterday afternoon, there was no word yet from Immigration whether Carlos was already arrested.

Immigration inspector Colin R. Sablan stated in court papers that Carlos entered the CNMI after being issued a nonresident worker’s entry permit on Nov. 30, 2000, which expired on Nov. 28, 2001.

Sablan said the respondent does not have any pending labor case or application for employment status.

Sablan added that Carlos failed to file an alien registration application as required under the law.

Immigration and Labor records show that the respondent worked on Saipan since 1995 to 2001 as a construction worker for North Pacific Builders Inc.
