The current queens of the diamond extended their lead on the competition as Bomsoro came from behind to win their sixth game of the season over Its Okay, 17-10, under the lights at Tan Ge Field in continuation of the Women’s Island-Wide Slow-Pitch Softball League Thursday night.

Dolores Rangamar was a hitting star as the centerfielder went 3-for-4 with a pair of singles and an inside-the-park homerun to lift Bomsoro, and she wasn’t the only one to round the bases as teammate Tanya Camacho went 2-for-3 knocked in a pair of runners with a single and an inside the parker.

The Bomsoro talent pool runs deep as infielder Lei Betevua drove in two runs off a pair of singles to finish 2-for-3 on the night, while rising star Arcy Moncrief went 3-for-4 with a pair of singles, a double, and an RBI.

The hit parade continued as Beverly Ngirmekur went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and Connie Camacho went 2-for-4 with a pair of base knocks. The team is chock full of potential and sure-fire all-stars, and they will sit atop the standings at 6-1 until someone can knock them off.

After trailing 8-1 through the first inning and a half, Bomsoro’s offense opened up to score 12 runs over the next three at bats while its defense clamped down to hold Its Okay to just two runs the rest of the way.

Bomsoro started to chip away with five runs in the bottom of the second before tying the game at eight apiece with a pair in the bottom of the third. They took the lead for good in their next at bat when Bomsoro added another five runs in the fourth inning, and put the game out of reach with a four run outburst in the sixth.

Mix-A-Lot 13, Tanapag Lady-8ers 3

There was little that the Lady-8ers could do to stop the surging Mix-A-Lot squad that ran, hit, and pitched a lot on Thursday night, as shortstopBert Camacho teamed up with hurler Julie Omar to get their fourth win of the season, 13-3.

Mix-A-Lot climbed into second place with the victory thanks to solid play on both sides of the plate. Omar pulled off a rare feat by limiting the Tanapag Lady-8ers to just three runs off of eight hits in the batter friendly league. Camacho was all over the place on the defensive side of the ball as she single handedly shutdown Tanapag from her shortstop position.

Camacho also went 2-for-3 with a single, a double, drove in two runs, and stole a base, while all-star centerfielder Liz Lebria went 1-for-2 with an RBI single and a walk, and slugger Charlene Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a pair of base knocks.

Mix-A-Lot got its scoring drive started early as they ripped off five runs in the top of the first and three more in the top of the second before adding some insurance at the end of the game.

Pacific Amigas 25, Sai-Steve Rookies 4

The Pacific Amigas rebounded from its forfeit loss on Tuesday night with an offensive explosion at the expense of the league’s last place team, as they recorded their third win of the season in a 25-4 landslide over the Sai-Steve Rookies.

Vicky Taitano was in a league of her own on Thursday as she went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in off of a string of singles, while extra hitter Mel Sablan went 2-for-2 with a single, a triple, and an RBI.

Right fielder Lorna Tenorio was no slouch either as she went 2-for-4 with a pair of base hits and an RBI to rout the Rookies.

At 3-4, the Amigas still have a long way to go before they can contend for the pennant, but they proved that they can put points on the board against the teams they should beat. After roaring out to a 12-0 lead, the Amigas watched the Rookies chip away with four runs in the top of the third inning. Rather than let their grip on the game slide, the Amigas went Anatahan for 13 runs in the bottom of the fourth to assuage all fears of losing to the Rookies.
