It would be a fun vacation for Public School System associate commissioner for instruction Rita A. Sablan after learning that she won the last seat for Coca Cola’s Hong Kong Disneyland holiday giveaway.

Frank C. Sablan represented his wife Rita, who is currently in the U.S. visiting her two children, during the awarding ceremony held at the Coca Cola Beverage (Micronesia), Inc. office yesterday afternoon.

Sablan said they were surprised when his wife’s sister, Lily, gave them a call in the United States informing them of their fortune. He said he still could not believe that they actually won the Hong Kong trip.

The couple was in the United States when Coca Cola had the final grand draw at the KZMI and KCNM radio station last Dec. 30, 2005.

“Coca Cola is so happy for the Sablan family,” said Kathryn Barry, Coca Cola’s sales and marketing director. Barry confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased at the Joeten Shopping Center in Garapan.

Sablan said because of the holiday season and several family gatherings, they were able to buy Coca Cola products at least 12 to 24 packs a week. He said their winning has been a perfect holiday gift for them, especially for him who is currently out of work.

He said he and his wife would now have to think who to take with them to Hong Kong since their two children are busy with their college studies. They might also choose from among their nephews and nieces to fill the two seats for the trip.

Angelito Pamintuan, a nonresident worker from the Philippines, won the first grand prize draw in early December, while Pat Leon Guerrero, a Pacific Pest Control employee, bagged the second grand prize draw.

The couples won an all-expense paid trip to Hong Kong Disneyland that includes roundtrip airfare for a family of four, with a three-night stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland resort and a $1,000 Visa gift card.

Barry is thanking all the sponsors, retailers, and consumers for making the dream vacations for the CNMI families come true.

KZMI and KCNM station manager Harry Blalock and Coca Cola’s general manager Johnnie Fong also attended the awarding ceremony yesterday afternoon.
