Govt prosecutes six persons

The government has prosecuted six persons who allegedly committed separate offenses on Saipan.

Charged on Friday were Hanson P. Kapileo, Ronaldo Moulic Divina, Edwin Colita Maratas, Dennis Aichi, Mariano Fanana Lisua, and Fisenta Fishmark.

The defendants were summoned to appear and answer the charges in Superior Court on Feb. 20.

Kapileo was charged with assault and battery for allegedly punching a woman in the arm on Christmas Day 2005.

Divina and Maratas were charged with assault and battery for reportedly punching Jose Coscos Lunzaga on the left side of his face and choking him on Dec. 18, 2005.

The defendants also allegedly kicked Lunzaga in the left side of his body, according to the information filed by the Attorney General’s Office.

Aichi was charged with assault and battery for allegedly slapping and punching a woman in the face during New Year’s Day of 2006.

Lisua was charged with theft of service for allegedly refusing to pay his meal valued at $11.25 at Shirley’s Coffee Shop in Garapan on Jan. 4.

Fishmark was charged with assault and battery for allegedly repeatedly slapping a woman in the face on Dec. 31, 2005.
