Teen allegedly beats up his pregnant girlfriend
A teenager allegedly beat up his eight-month pregnant girlfriend when she woke him up as he was sleeping on the grass outside their residence in Upper Miha, Garapan, according to court papers.
Ties K. Sachuo, 18, was arrested for alleged assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and minor consuming alcohol.
The victim was treated at the Commonwealth Health Center for swollen and bruised lips.
Detective Christopher Leon Guerrero stated in his report filed in court that Sachuo had been drinking with friends on the night of Jan. 18, 2006. Sachuo arrived home drunk and slept on the grass outside their house.
The following day at 6:40am, the girlfriend found Sachuo sleeping outside. The girlfriend woke up the defendant, who got mad and allegedly punched her in the mouth and in the back.
A caller informed police about the incident. When police officers responded, Sachuo had already left the place.
Detective Leon Guerrero said that on Sept. 8, 2005, the defendant also punched the victim on the nose inside the JC Poker in Garapan.
Leon Guerrero said investigation showed that, while the victim was in the poker arcade, Sachuo grabbed her money so he could play poker.
The victim grabbed her money back, but the defendant got mad and slapped her in the face, then punched her on the nose.
Sachuo was only arrested last Sunday. He was taken Monday afternoon before Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman, who imposed a $10,000 cash bail for his temporary liberty.
Preliminary hearing was set for Feb. 9.
