The future stars of the CNMI are a week and a half away from opening day at the ball park, but before the Saipan Little League Baseball Association officials send the first pitch toward home plate, they have to deal with the least fun part of the process—the paperwork.

In order for all of the homeruns and diving catches to get underway, representatives from all of the teams will have to submit their rosters and entrance fees before tonight’s deadline.

To assist the teams with the process, the entire SLLBA board of directors will be on hand in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium to field questions from 5-9pm.

While league officials previously stated they expect to see record numbers turn out for the 2006 season, SLLBA President Mike Borja said that the total numbers of players and teams will be determined following this evening’s events at the Oleai Sports Complex.

For more information about the Saipan Little League Baseball Association or about tonight’s registration procedures, contact Borja by calling 322-9889.
