An ex-convict has pleaded guilty to new allegations of breaking into an establishment and stealing money.

Alfred A. Obak pleaded guilty to burglary and theft.

The Superior Court set the sentencing for March 21, 2006.

Under the plea agreement, the government would recommend three years in jail, all suspended except for a period not exceeding one year.

Under the agreement, the defendant would pay $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community work service.

Obak would also stay away from all poker arcades during his probationary period.

Court papers said that on March 13, 2005 Obak entered an establishment and stole Me Aa Jeon’s bag containing a wallet, identification card, and $15 cash.

In August 2005, Obak pleaded guilty to assault and battery, and disturbing the peace for beating a man who greeted him “Merry Christmas” on Dec. 25, 2004.

Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo accepted Obak’s plea and sentenced him to one year in jail, all suspended except for three days with credit for the three days he had already served in prison for assault and battery.

Govendo sentenced Obak to six months in prison, all suspended for disturbing the peace.

The judge placed the defendant on one year and six months of probation and directed him to pay a $500 fine plus court assessment and probation fees.
