Power outage set today

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said that there would be a power outage today, Feb. 9, from 1pm to 4pm on 2nd partial of Feeder 4.

Areas to be affected are 1300 Block on Capitol Hill, Mt. Tapochau, Denni, As Teo, Kagman Junction Road, part of Cross Island Road (Papago up to Botanical Garden), and all of Kagman I, II and III areas.

Water services within these areas will also be affected.

CUC said the purpose of this outage is to replace deteriorated power poles in Mount Tapochau, to repair air-break switches and to replace three fuse cutouts in Kagman III, Phase IV, due to corrosion at the existing metal structures.

“This three-hour interruption is necessary in order for our linemen to safely perform their tasks,” CUC said in a statement yesterday. (PR)
